Vaccines Become Available for Children Age 5-11
Pfizer vaccines are now becoming available in Minnesota for children age 5 to 11. Free vaccines will be offered at pediatric offices, clinics and pharmacies. Availability may be limited but is expected to increase over the next few weeks.
Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) News has gathered a list of providers where parents and guardians can request vaccines for children over the age of 5.
As a reminder, South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) evaluates several factors before making adjustments to its masking, health and safety measures, including:
- Whether elevated positive cases in any school require increased safety procedures.
- Availability and widespread distribution of the vaccine for students above the age of 5.
- A return to low levels of community transmission in Washington County as indicated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- Following discussions with Washington County public health officials to determine what they're seeing in the community.
